The Voidcaster is a Nerf blaster that was released in August of 2017 under the Alien Menace series.
It comes packaged with eight Alien Menace Darts.
It is a worldwide Toys "R" Us exclusive.
Details
The Voidcaster is a bullpup-style blaster with a large, squeeze lever-style trigger and can hold up to four darts at a time; an additional eight darts can be stored in the bottom half of the blaster. A large, rubberized strap point is built into the bottom half of it as well. Priming is not required as it features a dual-action, trigger-based mechanic like the Snapfire 8. It features the use of intelligent air restrictors, which allow a single dart to be fired from either of its barrels.
History
The Voidcaster was officially announced on January 31, 2017.
Trivia
- There is a prototype purple variant of the Voidcaster with a similar color scheme to that of older Alien Menace blasters such as the Ravager and Incisor. Images of this variant can be found in an official Hasbro brand asset toolkit on Annie Stuckey's website, one of Hasbro's graphic communication designers.
- During the blaster's leak, it was thought that it was pump-action, rather than dual-action.
- Unlike other bullpup blasters such as the Rayven CS-18, the Voidcaster does not feature a stock.
