I second that. In some marketing info, Hasbro has referred to these as the "Indexing Clip System". In other glossy marketing material they call it the "Integrated Clip System". In others, they call it the "Internal Clip System".
So I guess there are a few take-aways here. First - Hasbro doesn't have a Continuity Department. They make it up as they go along. So don't expect consistency from a toy company that makes toys.
Second - there's a difference between integrated/internal clips that can't be removed from a blaster, and those that can. By definition, that's kinda the definition of integrated/internal ?
That means there are actually three types of Nerf "clips". Integrated and Internal clips that can't be physically removed from their blaster, Indexing clips that can be removed but are specific to a particular blaster, and CS style clips that are interchangeable between blasters (which we all know are actually "magazines").
So technically, there should be a fourth type of clip - a true clip that is interchangeable between blasters. But so far that hasn't happened - every Nerf clip has been specific to a certain type of blaster. One hopes that some day Hasbro will see the light. But that day isn't today.
