Star Wars is a Hasbro-owned brand of toys, ranging from action figures and play sets, to outdoor toys and role-playing toys, and to collectibles and dolls. It has been used in conjunction with the Nerf and Super Soaker brands to produce a number of cross-promotional products.

Details[]

Star Wars dart blasters are, often enough, modeled after weapons from the Star Wars universe. This ranges from weapons used by the protagonists, such as Han Solo or Rey, and the antagonists, such as the Stormtroopers.

History[]

The Star Wars brand was absorbed into the Hasbro line-up when it purchased Kenner Products; Kenner previously owned the rights to the brand and produced a very well-known line of Star Wars toys in the 70s and 80s.

Larami very briefly produced Star Wars-themed Super Soakers in 2000.[1]

A number of Star Wars blasters produced by Hasbro have been released in the Disney theme parks, in gift shops located near the Star Tours attraction in Disneyland and Disney's Hollywood Studios. When Disney purchased and absorbed Lucasfilm and the Star Wars franchise as a whole, various blasters were sold outside of the parks, in locations such as Downtown Disney. A blanket ban on all toy guns and blasters was put in effect in 2015, thus removing them from shelves even outside park gates.[2]

The 2011 trio of blasters - the Cad Bane Blaster, the Captain Rex Blaster, and the General Grievous Blaster - all featured their own ammunition type: the Stiff Dart. With the advent of the N-Strike Elite series, Star Wars blasters would use a variant of the Elite Dart: the Star Wars Dart.
