Not to be confused with the 2015 N-Strike SnapFire.

The Snapfire 8 is a Nerf blaster that was released on July 3, 2012 under the Dart Tag series.

It is a Toys "R" Us exclusive in the United States.

Included contents[]

Details[]

The Snapfire 8 is a dual-action blaster with two "Modes" the user can switch between: "Speed" and "Power". This is done by twisting a knob built into the blaster's grip, which changes the length of the internal spring, and thus affects the blaster's firepower.

Speed mode decreases firing power for the sake of increasing overall rate of fire, whereas Power mode increases firepower and decreases firing speed. Trigger pull is also affected by these modes, with Power mode having a harder trigger pull than Speed mode. A third mode option can be toggled to by setting the knob between both named options, providing a balance in both firepower and firing speed.

Problems[]

The Snapfire 8 is notoriously fragile, with the inner shell shattering at points after use.[citation needed] This may be due to the spring load slamming against the inner shell after every shot; this can be mitigated by padding the inner shell.

Color schemes[]

The Snapfire 8 has been released with the following color schemes:

  • Black knob
  • Orange knob

History[]

The Snapfire was released July 3, 2012 in Singapore and some European countries. It was released in the United States on February 22, 2013.

Trivia[]

  • This was the first Nerf blaster to use dual-action priming.
  • This, the Stinger, and the Quick 16, are the only three post-2011 Dart Tag blasters that were not released with a blue trigger.
  • There are two different colors for the blaster's internals: white or black.
