The ShellStrike DS-6 is a blaster that uses shells, like the Trilogy DS-15 and the Zombie Strike SledgeFire. The shell's breech can be opened by pressing an eject button near the firing trigger, similar to that of the RIVAL Knockout XX-100. After loading, simply push the breach back to its place. However, after firing the ShellStrike, you have to switch out shells manually.
Due to the ShellStrike's short barrel and separate priming mechanism, one can treat the ShellStrike as a front-loading blaster without needing to eject the shell.
On the bottom of the ShellStrike, there is storage to store two Elite Shells, its type of shell. And beneath that storage spot, there is a single tactical rail located on it. Unlike most blasters, the ShellStrike is primed by a little priming slide is on the back, similar to that of several Star Wars blasters, such as the First Order Stormtrooper Blaster. When the slide is pulled back, the blaster primes.

Fire 3 darts at a time from this shell-loading blaster! The Nerf Elite Shellstrike blaster features a break-open mechanism for inserting a shell inside -- move the latch and the blaster swings open. Place the shell inside, close the blaster, and you're ready for action. Strike your target with a triple-dart smash as you prime the blaster and press the trigger. It comes with 6 Official Nerf Elite darts and 2 shells that each can hold up to 3 darts. You can store 2 shells on the blaster, keeping them close by to reload quickly. Remove the empty shell, load a full one, and keep on playing! This Nerf Elite blaster is a great size for indoor and outdoor Nerf games, and the soft darts make it fun for everyone to play. Official Nerf darts are tested and approved for performance and quality and constructed of foam with flexible, hollow tips. Eyewear recommended (not included).
The ShellStrike was first leaked online in early November of 2019, featuring the packaging of the ShellStrike. In December 2019, official stock images were leaked alongside that of the RIVAL Takedown XX-800.
- Despite the fact that the ShellStrike DS-6 can hold two shells in storage and one in the chamber, the blaster only comes with two shells.
- Interestingly, the stock image of the ShellStrike shows the darts poking out of the shells. This is not an ideal placement because the darts won't be seated properly.
- Interestingly, the gray-triggered variant does not appear to have weakened performance.
