Details[]

The Perceptor is a unique single-fire blaster composed of two different sections: a headpiece and chestpiece that attach to the user's head and chest area, respectively. The priming mechanism is also its own separate piece, meant to be connected to the chestpiece; in lieu of a standard firing trigger, the Perceptor's is an oversized one that is about the size of the handle of the mechanism.

The headpiece is where darts are meant to be fired from, with a hose connecting the barrel down to the priming mechanism. It also includes an integrated sight, meant to align with the barrel; this sight also has a mirror built into it.

The chestpiece is adjustable to try and accommodate for different body types, though it is sized for a child. It features a space for the priming mechanism to be stored, which snaps into place as to not fall out while in play. Additional ammunition can be stored on a strap coming off of the chestpiece.

History[]

It was invented by Michael Moore and Robert Brown. Prior to the release of the blaster, the patent for it was filed on August 29th, 1996. The patent was later awarded on February 10th, 1998.
