History[]
In 2021, this blaster was re-released under the Dart Zone Max series for overseas markets.[citation needed]
In the same year, two color variants - one gold and one camouflage - were made as special edition releases.
In 2022, a limited edition version of the Nexus Pro in a light blue color scheme was sent to certain Nerf content creators.
Reception of the blaster has been very positive. It is credited as one of the first hobby-grade blasters that can be bought off the shelf at retail stores.
Color schemes[]
The Nexus Pro has been released with the following color schemes:
- Tactical Strike / Dart Zone Max (dark yellow, black, white, and orange)
- Midas Touch special edition (gold, black, white, and orange)
- Graphic Camo special edition (purple, magenta, cyan, black, white, and orange)
- Limited edition (light blue, black, white, and orange)
Modification[]
The blaster uses a buffer tube to attach its stock; the stock can be replaced by mil-spec or airsoft stocks, or stocks from other blasters that fit on buffer tubes.
The Nexus Pro's spring can easily be replaced by removing a piece of plastic in its buffer tube. Due to the nature of the Nexus Pro, it is quickly becoming a choice for many modders and hobbyists in the community as a solid starter platform.
An extra Picatinny rail is hidden under the pump grip if it is unscrewed and taken off. 3D-printed accessories have also been made for the Nexus Pro, such as Picatinny rails that bolt into the sides of the handguard, and a riser to make the top rail one continuous segment of rail.
Trivia[]
- Strangely enough, the Nexus Pro's half-length dart magazine adapter is not compatible with the Dart Zone Pro fifteen half-length dart magazine.
- High-Impact Rounds, Mega Darts, and ULTRA Darts can be fired from the Nexus Pro if they are muzzle-loaded.[citation needed]
- The first bit of the blaster's prime is not under spring tension. This actually allows the clip to be removed without fully priming the blaster, since the bolt sled can be moved out of the way, but it is unknown if this feature was intentional.
