As to keep all content on the Nerf Wiki uniform, guidelines listed here should be followed on all articles.
Titles and names
When naming articles, the singular form of its subject's name should be used, rather than plural form. For example, the article for Micro Darts is named "Micro Dart". An exception to this rule is for creating list-style articles, such as "List of Lanard brands".
Upon the first mention of the subjectls name in its article, the name should be bolded. This includes alternate names, such as prototype names or re-releases of blasters and products listed in history sections.
Official names should be used when applicable. Some official names may be considered too generic to be used, however, and conjecture-style names may be used instead. Examples of these include accessory articles, such as various shoulder stocks and barrel extensions.
For articles with shared names, an identifier should keep the two distinct from one another. For example, the articles Mega Dart and Mega Dart (N-Strike Mega) are distinct from one another, with the latter being denoted as the newer N-Strike Mega version. Alternatively, and more applicable when there are more than two articles with the same name, both or all articles can have the identifier, with a parent article acting as a disambiguation page. For example, Crossbow acts as a disambiguation page, and provides links to different products that use the name.
Content
As mentioned on the wiki policies, the Nerf Wiki should be written using American English spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Measurements are given in imperial units first, such as feet and inches, followed by a parenthetical translation to metric units, such as meters and centimeters.
Articles should avoid the word "you" when at all possible. Suggested alternatives to the word include "user" and "person".
Other articles should be linked only one time in an article, when they are first mentioned. For example, the word "dart" may appear multiple times in an article, but the only mention that links to the Dart article should be the first. Exceptions to this include the link being present in a list or table, such as color scheme listings and series product listings. Additional links to the same article throughout an article will be removed.
Terminology
In regards to the use of the word "clip" over "magazine", the Nerf Wiki opts to use the term "clip" first and foremost, as this is terminology this Hasbro uses for their products. It is acknowledged within the clip article that "magazine" is technically correct; please do not change the use of the word in other articles in order to "correct it."
Objectivity
All articles on the Nerf Wiki must be objective and free of bias or opinion. Refrain from including statements regarding a blaster as "good" or "bad" or anything similar. Performance sub-articles should only list hard facts about a product's performance, rather than thoughts on it. Personal opinions like these should be put onto userspace, such as a user page, talk page, or blog post, or on the forums.
Continuously putting opinion and bias onto articles is a warnable offense, falling under obstruction of productivity.
References
References can be added to an article using <ref>...</ref>
tags and a {{Cite web}} template. These will be automatically listed on the article; including a proper References section will display this where it should be placed, rather than at the bottom of the article.
If a piece of information is missing a reference where it should include one, the {{Citation needed}} should be placed following it. This will mark the article for requiring clarification and reference, and should be dealt with in a timely fashion.
