Details[]
The Mutator is a clip-fed, bolt-action blaster that feeds from two clips at a time. These clips are switched between each other by extending the integrated barrel piece; a green indicator within a translucent portion of the blaster denotes which clip is fed in. The tip of this barrel can also be extended further, not affecting what clip is loaded. A single integrated flip-up sight is located atop this muzzle tip.
A single clip release button, located behind both clip wells, functions for both of the clip wells. It features a tactical rail on top, as well as a detachable shoulder stock.
Since the bolt sled needs to span across two clips, the prime length is twice as long as the average bolt-action blaster.
It is compatible with Nerf clip system darts and clips.
It advertises a firing range of up to a hundred feet (thirty meters).
History[]
The Mutator was first announced at the 2018 New York Toy Fair. The showcase model's shell was much more different than the production model and had a red color scheme.
