The Magpie is an MHP Arms blaster that was released in 2020[1]. It requires a LiPo battery to be operated.
Details[]
The Magpie is a small 3D-printed semi-automatic flywheel blaster that utilizes removable cylinders. It comes with and is compatible with its own six-half-length dart cylinder, which can manually be removed by pushing on it, somewhat akin to the Nerf N-Strike Elite Strongarm. The cylinder can be loaded through the front or the back, which is unique compared to most mass-produced blasters.
The Magpie operates via a two-state trigger, meaning that pulling the trigger half-way revs up the flywheels, and fully pulling the trigger makes the blaster fire. A 2S or 3S LiPo battery can be inserted through the bottom of the grip, which can easily be extracted by sliding off the battery cover.[2]
Blaster sets[]
The Magpie can be purchased to be fitted with either a short, medium-length, or long muzzle. Similarly, the flywheel motors can be customized upon ordering, with the option of having Honeybadger or Merlin motors. Acetal parts can also be purchased with the Magpie while ordering. The color scheme of the Magpie can also be customized upon ordering, with options to change the primary, secondary, and grip color.
The Magpie is available in a DIY kit, where the user assembles the blaster themselves. Several parts are also able to be purchased on its own, such as its cylinder, the internals of the blaster, and the shell of the blaster itself.
