Not to be confused with the 2006 N-Strike Longshot CS-6 or the 2017 Nitro LongShot.

The Longshot CS-12 is a clip system Nerf blaster that was released in fall of 2014 under the Z.E.D. Squad sub-series.

Included contents[]

Details[]

The Longshot CS-12 is a bolt-action clip-fed blaster. Not included with this re-release is the Longshot front blaster or the integrated bi-pod. In addition, the words "Longshot CS-6" are removed from the front of the blaster.

Despite not coming with the original front blaster, it is still compatible with barrel extensions. It also still features a collapsible, integrated stock, which can store an extra clip.

The Longshot CS-12 does not claim N-Strike Elite ranges and does not feature any sort of performance improvement.[2]

Official description[]

History[]

The Longshot CS-12 is a re-release of the 2006 N-Strike Longshot CS-6. It was first revealed in May of 2014 on the Smyths Toys website. The listing was then spread around online, upon its mainstream discovery on the 30th.[3] It was the first product in the Z.E.D. Squad sub-series to be discovered.[4]

Many in the NIC were concerned about the internals of the blaster, wondering whether or not they would stay the same as they did in the original release or if they would be updated to Elite standards.[5]

Modification[]

Orange Mod Works, a team devoted to modding blasters, have released two Unleashed Solid Kits for the Longshot; a Stage 1 kit with replacement spring, trigger catch and a Stage 2 kit with replacement boltsled and plunger.

Trivia[]

  • The integrated stock still features the N-Strike logo detailed into it. This is probably an oversight from using the same molds as the previous Longshot.
  • Besides the limited availability of the N-Strike Elite pinpoint sight, this would be the first time that a scope or a sight accessory had been released alongside a blaster, since the 2012 G.I. Joe Ninja Commando Blaster.
  • The Longshot CS-12 is the only Zombie Strike blaster to have an N-Strike number code.
  • Some stock images of the Longshot CS-12 show the blaster with a black front handle. However, the final version has an orange handle.
