The Legendfire is a revolver-style blaster; unlike many other revolver-style blasters, the Legendfire does not feature a firing trigger. Instead, it features pseudo-slam fire and fires when the pump is pulled back. Packaged separately is a Cartridge holster which snaps into the back of the blaster, and can hold an additional Cartridge for quick reloading. The blaster itself breaks away for reloading, similar to the Nerf Barrel Break IX-2 or the Buzz Bee Double Shot.
It advertises a firing range of up to eighty feet (twenty-four meters).

Pull back the priming pump to fire a dart.
The Legendfire is compatible with Nerf Elite Darts and its many variants.
- A rail on top of the blaster can fit Nerf tactical rail accessories; they will not lock into place, however, and run the risk of coming off during use.
