The Knockout XX-100 is a Nerf blaster that was released on October 1, 2019[1], under the RIVAL series.

It comes packaged with two High-Impact Rounds and instructions.

Details[]

The Knockout XX-100 is a slide-action blaster that is loaded through a breech. This is be accessed by pushing the breech lever, which is located above the firing trigger. Upon pulling the breech lever, the spring-loaded breech opens automatically for loading and must be manually closed for the blaster to be fired.

The blaster itself is primed by a priming rod, resembling that of external mechanism blasters such as the Jolt EX-1. However, unlike most external mechanism blasters, the priming rod is not directly connected to the plunger rod and will not automatically return to its resting position; it must be manually pushed back up and into place to fire the blaster.

Below the muzzle is a place to store four High-Impact Rounds, two on each side of the Knockout. Under the trigger is a safety switch.

It advertises a firing velocity of ninety feet per second (twenty-seven meters per second).

Official description[]

History[]

The Knockout was originally leaked online in early 2019. Later in August of that year, the Knockout's packaging was leaked online. It was officially announced on September 6th.[1]

Color schemes[]

The Knockout is set to be released in the following color schemes:

  • Team Red (red, black, white, and orange)
  • Team Blue (blue, black, white, and orange)

Blaster sets[]

The Knockout is included in the Advanced Targeting Set. Two are also included in the Clash Pack blaster set.

Trivia[]

  • Despite being released in 2019, the Knockout's number code marks it as a 2020 blaster.
  • The Knockout is the first non-cross-promotional RIVAL blaster to not be named after any sort of deity or mythological hero.
    • However, some distributor websites denote the Knockout as the Pontus XX-100, named after Pontus, a pre-Olympian sea god in Greek mythology. It is speculated to be an old name that was later changed as a way of rebranding the RIVAL series and drifting away from names of Greek/Roman mythology towards fighting-related terms.
    • It is also the last blaster to be released in both Team Red and Blue colors, and the only RIVAL blaster to be named after fighting-related terms to be released in both team colors.
  • The blaster can load and fire two rounds at once, with considerable drops to firing power.[1]
  • This blaster resembles the N-Strike Mega BigShock in both size and appearance. However the mechanism for the blaster is entirely different.
  • The blue Knockout available in the Clash Pack has its painted details on its left side, rather than its right.
    • If one were to take a standard blue Knockout and the Clash Pack blue Knockout, and assemble both of their halves together, they would have a complete blaster that has painted details on both sides.
