The IonFire is a Nerf blaster that was released in spring of 2016 under the N-Strike Modulus series.
It comes packaged with a detachable barrel extension, a four dart ammo rail, four Elite Darts, and instructions.
Details
The IonFire features a priming mechanism and a breech-loading system similar to the N-Strike (Elite) SharpFire and the AccuStrike Series FalconFire. As a breech-loading system blaster, it uses a reverse plunger system that is similar to the N-Strike SharpFire. Unlike other N-Strike Modulus blasters, the IonFire has decreased performance, and range is not advertised in the box. It is compatible with both barrel extensions and detachable shoulder stocks. It features a carry handle similar to the one on the Modulus ECS-10 but white, not grey, and has two tactical rails: one on the carry handle and one under the blaster.

Reloading and firing
To reload the IonFire, pull back the slide to expose the breech. Place a dart in the chamber. Return the slide to its original position to prime the blaster; it will click into place when it is fully primed.
Pull the firing trigger to fire a dart.
An alternative method to reload the IonFire is to push it into the breech (or drop the dart into the muzzle with the barrel extension), and then cycle the slide back and forward to prime the blaster. This method is not seen in the instructions.
Trivia
- There have been many reported incidents of the IonFire being primed while still in the box. This has lead to spring compression, and decreased performance of the blaster.
- Because of its design, the IonFire lacks a barrel extension locking nub. Thus, other barrel extensions will not fit on as well as its included barrel, with the exception of the Proximity Barrel, which is similarly sized.
- Although the blaster has the potential to carry up to five darts in total, it only comes with four.
- The IonFire is one of three Modulus blasters to not use the conventional clip system , the other two being the Battlescout ICS-10 and the unreleased Ghost Ops Shadow ICS-6.
