The Hidden Shot is a Nerf blaster that was released in 1995 under the Ambush Rip Rockets series.
Included contents[]
- 1 Hidden Shot
- 3 Glow-In-The-Dark Darts
Details[]
The Hidden Shot is a single-fire, pocket blaster that has the ability to fold in its barrel and handle. Folding the barrel up above the blaster readies it for use. It features two dart holders on the flat, backside of the blaster.[4]
This blaster features an iron sight on the top of its barrel, and is primed using the orange priming mechanism at the front of the blaster. The Wrist Blitzer is very similar to this blaster, although it is mounted to one's wrist and the Hidden Shot is not. Although the Hidden Shot was intended to be compatible with Micro Darts, it is also capable of firing Mega Darts.[5]
History[]
This blaster was featured in the 1995 and 1996 Kenner Guide pamphlet.
The Hidden Shot was re-released in 1997 as the Dino-Tracking blaster to promote the film The Lost World: Jurassic Park. It was sold alongside the T-Rex Tranq Gun under the guise of a tranquilizer gun within the Dino-Tracking Gear Set.
The blaster was given a re-release in 2000[6], where it was sold until at least late 2001.[7]
Modification[]
Being a pocket blaster, the modification potential of the Hidden Shot is rather limited. Still, standard spring-related modifications can be completed, such as air restrictor removal, spring replacements, and barrel replacements.[8]
It should be noted that the Hidden Shot will require a catch system strengthening if the user wishes to exchange the spring for a more powerful one.[9] The way the air is sent to the barrel of the blaster will also require a small notch to be removed from the replacement barrel should the user decide to remove the original barrel completely.
Trivia[]
- This was the first Rip Rockets blaster to have a normal firing trigger.
- The Hidden Shot's shell was used for part of the Wrist Blitzer's design.
