Details[]

The Gjallarhorn is a large, breech-loaded dart shell blaster. It is based on the Gjallarhorn weapon from the Destiny video games. It features an integrated light-up scope. The blaster comes disassembled for transportation.

Pushing the top slide will automatically open a hatch with a breech inside. The breech does not close by itself and must be pushed down before pulling the slide back. Upon priming the blaster, the scope will light up.

Similarly to other Nerf LMTD blasters, the box doubles as a display case.

History[]

The Gjallarhorn was announced on August 24, 2021, during a Bungie stream about their video games. The official product listing, as well as images of the blaster, were unveiled on December 7. Pre-orders for the blaster were first available only to those who had unlocked the weapon within Destiny 2; general pre-orders would later be available past August 1, 2022.

Trivia[]

  • The Gjallarhorn the first Nerf Mega blaster to use dart shells.
    • It is also the first shell-loaded blaster to fire different types of darts.
  • The official description does not mention the Elite shell or Elite Darts being included with the blaster.
  • The Gjallarhorn blaster is available as a weapon ornament in Destiny 2, that changes the appearance of the in-game Gjallarhorn to resemble its Nerf counterpart. In-game, the ornament is called the Gjallarfoam, and is loaded with Elite Missiles.
  • The scope has a “lens” that makes it very difficult to see through. Especially with the light on.
