History[]
It, alongside the Aquapack Devastator, was the first blaster to be released using CPS-style elastic internals since 2002.
Later re-releases of the Arctic Shock would drop the inclusion of the SoakerTags from packaging. It was re-released in 2006 under the Max Infusion series, followed by the unnamed 2008 series.
The Hydro Cannon is commonly regarded as its successor, due to similar performance.
