Zombie Strike Defender is an online and mobile Nerf game. The mobile version is available on the Hasbro Arcade app.

The browser version previously featured connectivity to the Nerf Perfect Challenge service, which allowed players to track high scores and unlock further content in game. It was taken off the Nerf website in 2017.

Details[]

As its name suggests, Zombie Strike Defender features Zombie Strike blasters. The player assumes the role of a survivor, required to fight off hordes zombies trying to attack their base. Players can damage zombies using their blaster, and need to stop zombies from getting through their base's barrier. Zombies may be attacking from multiple directions, and players need to change directions using the arrow buttons on the sides of the screen.

Players start off with either a Doublestrike or Sidestrike as their primary blaster, depending on the game mode.

The game also uses a credit system, where players gain more credits each time they defeat a zombie. After a round has finished, they can use the credits to buy different "supplies" in the shop that they can use the next round. Supplies include different abilities and blasters, such as the ability to make zombies slower, repair the barrier, or a "Z-Bomb" ability: a one-time use ability that wipes all zombies on the screen. Blasters bought from the shop also have special features and limited ammunition. For example, the SlingFire has a significantly high rate of fire, the SledgeFire shoots clusters of three darts (just like its real-life counterpart), and the Crossfire Bow's darts can pierce through zombies.

Trivia[]

  • While the "Z-Bomb" ability is a reference to the real-life foam Z-Bombs, it is not actually based off of any of the Z-Bombs, and is just represented as a stereotypical cartoon cannonball bomb with a spherical shape and a fuse sticking out of it.
