It comes packaged with six Elite Darts.
The Disruptor is a six-dart revolver-style blaster sharing many similarities with the 2013 Strongarm. However, unlike the Strongarm, its cylinder is fixed in place, and does not swing open. At the same time, the cylinder's chambers are much more exposed to allow easier reloading, although this decision may have also been a cost cutting measure. It features one tactical rail and two strap points: one below the cylinder and one built into the handle. The blaster also features slam fire.
It advertises a firing range of up to ninety feet (twenty-seven meters).

Choose your target and fire 1 dart at a time, or unleash all 6 darts in rapid succession with slam-fire action. To prime the blaster, pull the slide back and release. Check the indicator; if it is orange, the blaster is primed and ready to fire. The The Nerf N-Strike Elite Disruptor fires darts up to 90 feet (27 meters). Includes 6 Elite darts.
- Internally, it is nearly identical to the Strongarm, so much so that the Strongarm upgrade kit from Orange Mod Works is reputed to be highly compatible with the Disruptor. Only the trigger differs, and this can be remedied by filing down appropriate areas.
- The Disruptor was possibly created to be an alternate, cheaper, and revised Strongarm, while keeping its initial principle. The Strongarm remains on market for those who prefer the drop cylinder.
