The Derringer is a Buzz Bee blaster that was released in 2010 under the Air Blasters series.

It comes packaged with two Micro Darts.

Details

The Derringer itself has a very tiny handle and firing trigger, suitable only for small hands. The priming mechanism is similar to that of a Nerf Nite Finder EX-3, though with a minor difference in that this is able to flip up and down. It also features an area on the priming handle to attach the blaster to a keychain, although this frequently pops out of place when priming the blaster, causing difficulties when priming. This problem can easily be solved by pushing it back into place. All of these qualities are mirrored with the similarly-sized Tek 3.

There exists two different shells for the Derringer, both of which share the same color schemes.

History

The Derringer is the smallest blaster in the Air Blasters line and the only one not to be released in North America. This blaster was only released in India[1], and did not receive a worldwide release. As a pocket blaster, it has been released in many different blaster sets, including a double pack and a quadruple pack. It is unknown why the Derringer was not released anywhere outside of India, as it is the only country-exclusive Buzz Bee blaster. Because of its limited release, very little information is known about the blaster, including its year of release.

This blaster was not re-released under the Air Warriors line in 2011. Because of this, it is assumed that the blaster has been dropped from future plans.

Color schemes

The Derringer has been released with the following color schemes:

  • Green and orange
  • Yellow and orange.

Trivia

  • The Derringer is one of the smallest blasters ever produced; it is smaller than the Jolt EX-1, Reflex IX-1, Secret Strike AS-1, Tek 3, Stealth Shot, and other comparably-sized blasters.
  • Due to its small size, it is possible to be dual-wielded.
  • A "Derringer" is a small-sized handgun that is neither semi-automatic or a revolver.
