History[]
In January of 2014, a photo began to circulate showing what appeared to be several Sonic ICE Centurions stacked on a shelf.[1] While believed to be slated for production some time later in the year. By June, no new updates had been released about the Sonic ICE re-release. On July 10, the Sonic ICE Centurion was discovered in stores in a slightly-remodeled paint scheme.
Trivia[]
- Despite being one of three Mega blasters to appear in the Sonic ICE sub-series, the Sonic ICE Centurion is the only Sonic ICE Mega blaster to be packaged with Sonic ICE-themed Mega Darts. These darts are identical to the Elite Dart's color scheme.
- Additionally, although many clips in the Sonic ICE series feature half-clear plastic bodies, the Centurion's clip still sports a regular color scheme.
- The original red Centurion may not have attained widespread European release. In Germany, the Sonic ICE Model with grey trigger was the only version of the Mega Centurion ever available.[2]
