There's an old saying - "follow the money." And another good one - "one man's folly is another man's fortune". As Utter points out, it's definitely not a financial failure. It's not even a marketing failure. And despite being promoted over a steaming pile of lies, and having marginal performance, nerfers are generally happy with their ULTRAs. I guess that shiny gold logo buys a lot of credibility ?
But as Sparks pointed out, for us seasoned nerfers with perspective, it's a shi crap show. And forget about it, real hardcore nerfer's won't even give them a second glance. Nothin' to see there, just move on.
Personally, I don't hate the ULTRA blasters. I intensely dislike the darts. They're just MEGA darts with cheap styrofoam bodies and faux BS fins. Here was yet another opportunity for Hasbro to introduce a superior dart type à la AccuStrike, and they completely muffed it. It was so incredibly disappointing. And for that, I point the indignant finger of blame squarely at them.
