Not to be confused with the 2015 N-Strike Modulus Blast Shield.
The Blast Shield is a Nerf tactical rail accessory that was released in 2010 under the N-Strike series.
It comes packaged with the Stampede ECS, the Sonic Series Stampede ECS, and the ICON Series Stampede ECS.
Details[]
The Blast Shield provides protection from dart fire. It is designed so users can hide behind it in heavy fire so darts do not hit them. It wraps around from the top of the blaster to the blaster's barrels' sides. The shield can be removed from the blaster and attached to other blasters via tactical rail. The shield also has a wall of criss-crossing plastic that the user may view their opponent through. Incoming darts, including Streamline Darts, cannot fit through this opening. This attachment will block most oncoming fire to the head area, but older users will find that the scalp is still open to oncoming fire.
The Blast Shield was specifically designed for the Stampede, so attaching it to other blasters will cause it to wobble significantly whenever movement occurs; however, the Recon CS-6 seems to be an exception to this.
The Blast Shield has two orange tabs at the top which allow the user to open the tabs of the shield's inverse tactical rail. This allows the shield to be clamped to the front tactical rail of the Stampede; sliding it on like other accessories is not possible as the front sight of the Stampede is in the way of the shield.
History[]
The Blast Shield was re-released in 2019 with the ICON Series Stampede ECS.

Trivia[]
- Some blasters, such as the Vulcan EBF-25, cannot use the Blast Shield, due to it being too wide. Others will be too small to fit on properly, causing the shield to wobble. Using this with the Deploy CS-6 makes it impossible to compact the blaster fully. On many blasters, it tends to painfully pinch the person's hands. Surprisingly a Spectre REV-5 is still able to reload with the Blast Shield attached, but it is limited down to one dart at a time. On the Barricade RV-10, it cannot conventionally fit at all, but it is still held in place between the battery casing and the revolving barrel.
- The shield can be mounted on accessories with tactical rails at the top, such as the Dual-Mode Light Beam in order to increase its elevation. This allows it to fit on blasters that usually would not accept the shield, however, it may not work for all.
- When the Blast Shield is used on the Stampede ECS' forward tactical rail (i.e. where the box, all promotional images, and the blaster's enclosed instruction manual portray it to be) the blaster's iron sight is rendered useless because it blocks user's view down the barrel.
- The packaging for the Sonic Series Stampede ECS shows the Sonic variant of the blast shield as transparent green. However, the real one is opaque green.
