The Arctic Shock features the use of an Ice Core, an accessory that chills the water as it is fired. Ice cubes can be used instead of the Ice Core to chill the water.

Later re-releases of the Arctic Shock would drop the inclusion of the SoakerTags from packaging. These re-releases include 2006 under the Max Infusion series, 2008 under the unnamed 2008 series, 2010 under the Soaker Wars series, and 2011 under the unnamed 2011 series.
