Airbladder

The Magstrike's air bladder.

An air bladder is an internal component in some air powered blasters.

Details

Air bladders are large rubber bladders that are filled with air to create pressure. Unlike blasters that use air tanks, the air pressure does not directly fire the dart. Instead, the darts are fired from a direct plunger system, and the air force is what primes the blaster. Blasters that use air bladders usually have a very high rate of fire compared to flywheel or motorized direct plunger blasters.

History

The first Nerf blaster to have an air bladder was the 1999 Airjet Power Wildfire.

The last Nerf blaster to feature an air bladder was the 2007 Dart Tag Magstrike.
