The 2x4 is a Nerf-branded Perpetual Play Group foam weapon that was released in 2014 under the Z.E.D. Squad sub-series.
Details[]
The 2x4 is a foam weapon designed to resemble a real-life wooden 2x4. The end of the 2x4 has "steel" wrapped around it, with bumps protruding from it. There are seven indented tally marks that can be seen on the side of the 2x4.

It was first discovered in July of 2014.[1]
