Whenever I try to use my Flipfury, it will only fire well if the dart is of high quality (is new) and isn't crushed foam. Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

Part 2 of my FlipFury queries.
Last year I asked what the issue was on my FlipFury, as it wasn't firing my worn out darts properly. Now with my new darts, the same issue occurs. It fires really loud as if something's breaking inside, and it shoots inconsistently (though slamfire works like a charm).
What could be the issue here?
(Unrelated but if you're wondering, my current blasters with issues are: Evader, Regulator, and the FlipFury).

So recently I joined the NERF club at my college, and have combined my old collection of NERF blasters with a few newer additions I found by scouring some thrift shops and online postings, but I haven’t really come up with a solid loadout that works. Any advice would be incredibly helpful (though I’m not planning on buying any blasters brand new, college budget and all that.)
Here’s what I’ve got:
Hail-Fire
Vulcan EBF-25
Rapid Fire AS-20 (the 2010 version)
Stryfe (the 2014 Elite XD recoloring)
Barricade RV-10
Stockade
Modulus Tri-Strike (no attachments)
Retaliator (no attachments)
Firefly REV-8
Powerbelle
Hornet AS-6
HammerShot (I have two of them)
FlipFury
Maverick REV-6 (I have two of them)
Jolt (I have two of them)
Triad EX-3 (Elite markings)
Barrel Break IX-2
Crossfire Bow
Firestrike Elite
Blaster Stock
FalconFire
We’ve had two events so far, and while I’ve had mild success with my Vulcan and Hornet, I haven’t been able to find solid secondary options for either. The Vulcan becomes a liability once it runs out of darts and the Hornet is almost a guaranteed knockout every time I fire it but leaves me a sitting duck once I fire it. I do have a 25-round drum, two 10-round stick mags and eleven six-round clips if that helps.
Thanks!

Would it be possible to make a drop cylinder FlipFury? I've already made a (very janky) drop cylinder Strongarm.
Two of my flipfurys are malfunctioning. hey only get about an 8-foot range I have no clue what happened to them. Im going to open them up and see what is wrong but I would also like some advice.

My dad got it at the Facebook marketplace in the Philippines for the amazing price, but it is very, very picky about darts cuz when I use old darts, it only fires them by slamfiring it. New darts work fine, so what is causing this issue?
Guess what i found- well.. the title says it all..
Anyway, i went to my local goodwill with the intention of getting a nerf blaster. i kinda wanted a stampede, but they didn't have one :/
But, i found a flipfury! i tested it, and it worked fine!
So i went on and bought it.
Now im back at home.
So apparently, only 5 darts were loaded at the top barrel, and they weren't nerf darts at all. they looked like elite darts, but i compared the two and it wasn't a nerf dart. there isn't even the nerf logo on it!
But hey. still good.
Overall opinion:
Blaster: good condition, decent performance. 7/10.
Externals: Not too shabby at all. not much dirty stuff. slight paint damage! 7/10.
Internals: it makes a loud spring noise, which sounds a bit loose. still okay, though. 6/10.
Darts: off brand, i bet no dart blaster brands even use one! 3/10
Total rating: 7/10.
