I bought it to just see how bad it is, and, the more I look at the PACKAGING, the more disappointed I get. Just imagine, a 4 year old, who has easily swayed impressions, seeing this. He/she goes home to play with it, and is disappointed how horrendously bad it is. And that, is exactly how I feel. Disappointed. Like your mom after you broke a flower vase. Not angry, just disappointed.
And so, I opened the abomination that is the Uppercut. I find one dart. ONE. SINGLE. DART. A jolt, a blaster released almost 10 years ago at this point, has a TRIGGER, and TWO darts. For only $2 more than the $3.25 I put over for this thing. Sad. Just sad. I load the dart, and slam the plunger to fire the single dart Hasbro gave me. And it goes just about N-Strike ranges. And that was with a small tailwind. Amazing. My pointer finger feels out of place with no trigger.
My only compliment I can give about the Uppercut, is that the plunger has a spring return so I don’t have to manually pull back the plunger. I have no words. I would rather use my broken maverick then this blaster. This “blaster”, yes, I have to put that in quotations, it’s the representation of Nerf in 2020. The only reason that this “blaster isn’t the worst of 2020, is that it at least WORKS. The Warden, on the other hand, breaks in 2 minutes.
And so, that is my review of the Uppercut. Do I recommend you buy this? I think you know that answer. If I had to choose to get either an Uppercut or Warden, I would choose the Warden. The Warden, being as unreliable as it is, has at least a trigger and an actual priming system. So, that’s my review of the Uppercut. I have 4 words:
WHAT THE HELL, HASBRO?
