Eeeeeee
No, not dumb. Definitely not pretty, but not dumb. It's a MacGyver - very imaginative !
But I'm 99% sure you haven't field tested your "fix ". It's WAY harder to modify a pusher than you think. And it's not practical to switch back and forth between full and half length darts. Another case of "it looked so good on paper".
What the Spectrum really needs is a hybrid pusher like the one from Prusaprinters.org . It's robust, consistent, inexpensive, and you can seamlessly switch between full length and half length clips. And BTW the STL is free - still a value at twice the price 😉

The sad part is i dont have a 3d printer so even if i wanted i cant even print but ima try to make my way better
Btw i made this so i wont have to open the blaster because im probably going to break it
Firstly, you won't break your Spectrum by opening it. Do a little research, keep track of the screws, look for pics, vids & tutorials online, then consult people you trust - like the folks here at the wiki.
Then take lots of photos while you're taking apart your Spectrum (aka breadcrumbs) That way when you're confused about how it goes back together, you'll have pics to look at and figure it out.
And lastly, go to Prusaprinters.org and find someone who prints. Trust me, you don't need to own a 3D printer to get 3D nerf parts. Find someone to print them for you.
Seriously, you Gen Z nerfers need to get with the program. It's 2021 already 😜
I legit have no friends that have a 3d printer and okie
My local library has a 3D printer that folks can reserve time on. If you bring an STL, you can just select a color and start printing. Does your library have something like that ?
Also, the middle and high schools have 3D workshops. Again, if you have the STL you can literally just start printing, and there's people around to help.
There are also places on the internet that will print for you, then mail the part(s) to you. It cost a little more, but WAY less than the cost of a 3D printer.
And i dont know were to find one
Sorry, I didn't realize you lived in a community that doesn't have schools, libraries, or internet. That sucks.
I guess that means you're screwed ☹️
I can tell you what i did. I bought a short dart kit from foam pro shop that didn't work. Then i bought a worker short dart kit for flywheelers. It didn't work because of interference with the mag well converter. However, i was able to cut the foam pro shop pusher in a way that would remove the interference with the mag well converter. I also had to shorten it a bit to allow for reliable feeding from the mag. Still tuning it, but overall it works great. Based on the shape, you should be able to do the exact same modifications to the stock pusher and make it work. Overall, pretty simple. See the attached. Hope this helps. (Last photo is flipped, sorry.)
What do you think?
